The Supreme Court of India has decisively dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging a honey trapping scheme targeting judges and ministers in Karnataka. The court cited a lack of substantial evidence and legal standing as the primary reasons for its decision.
The case, referenced as "2025 INSC 1234," was presided over by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, and Justice B.V. Nagarathna. Petitioners contended that a coordinated blackmail effort threatened the judiciary's integrity.
