A.K. Goel

Justice A.K. Goel Born on 15th October, 1943. Graduated and obtained his L.L.B Degree from Punjab University. Started practice in March, 1969 at Sub Divisional Courts at Kandaghat, Shifted to District Courts at Shimla. After five years, shifted to The High Court of Himachal Pradesh and practised in Constitutional, Civil, Criminal and Mercantile Law. Represented Coorporations, Banks and Insurance Companies besides other Public Sector Undertakings. Was a Member of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh since 1978 till his elevation and was also a member of its Enrollment, Disciplinary, Executive, Advocates Welfare and Legal Aid Committees. Was an elected Chairman of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh on 26th March, 1995 and was also co-opted Member of Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Council of India. Appointed as an Additional Judge of The High Court of Himachal Pradesh, on November 30th 1995. Transferred to The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir on 11th December, 1997. Appointed as a Permanent Judge on 27th January, 1999. Retransferred to The High Court of Himachal Pradesh in June, 2001.
