D.P.Sood

Justice D.P.Sood Born on 31st March, 1933 at Shimla. Hails from Village-Teehri Pragpur, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Did his Schooling from D.A.V. High School, Shimla. Passed his examination from Law College, Jallandhar (Pb.). Started his Law practice as an Advocate at Sundernagar, District Mandi, in 1956 under the guidance of his illustrious father Late Sh. Kansi Ram Sood, Advocate. Shifted his practice to The High Court of Himachal Pradesh in 1968. Practised in almost every branch of law and had vast experience of handling all type of cases-Civil, Criminal, Taxation, Revenue, Writs etc. Was selected in the Higher Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services as an Additional District & Sessions Judge, in the year 1978 and served in various Session Divisions. Elevated to the High Court of Himachal Pradesh in June, 1990 as an Additional Judge. Appointed as the President of Himachal Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for the period of 22nd June, 1991 to 30th June, 1992.
